Democrats Abroad Platform

You were invited to comment on the draft 2016 DA Platform, a document stating DA's official views on issues concerning Americans. Members submitted over 3,275 comments, and all are being considered for inclusion in the platform. The final draft will be debated and ratified on May 15 in Berlin at the DA 2016 Global Convention.

Update from the FBAR/FATCA Task Force

On April 26 the court case to repeal FATCA was dismissed. DA's Task Force responded: “We continue the work to promote our recommended reform to FATCA, the Same Country Safe Harbor for Americans abroad, which would exempt the accounts of Americans abroad in their legal country of residence...” - more information

Democratic Party Committee Abroad (DPCA) Regional Caucuses, Global Convention & Annual Meeting

Open to all members of Democrats Abroad, the caucuses and Global Convention in this election year let voting representatives from Country Committees around the world elect the delegates who will represent DA at the Democratic National Convention held in Philadelphia, July 2016. More info here.

First Annual Davidson-Hyde Dinner

This dinner honors DA founders, Al Davidson and Toby Hyde. The evening's keynote speaker will be Congresswoman Dina Titus (D-NV). Donations will support DA's 2016 Get out the Vote Campaign to elect Democrats to the White House and Congress.

U.S. Ambassador Suzan G LeVine will hold a Town Hall, followed by consular outreach services, and Democrats Abroad Switzerland will be there to assist in Get out the Vote 2016 voter registration.
